Looking down from Asen’s fortress you can see Asenovgrad. We spent four hours walking around Asenovgrad before we finally managed to navigate our way up to the fortress by writing the name in Bulgarian on a yellow postik note and showing it to the locals who pointed us emphatically in the right direction.
