After climbing up to the top of Tsarevets, we paid 2 Leva to get a strange lift up to the top of the main tower, and the views were spectacular!

Patriarchal Cathedral of the Holy Ascension of God is not only a mouthful, but an Eastern Orthodox Cathedral in the centre of the complex. It was part of a group of buildings which constituted the seat of the Bulgarian Patriarchate and acted as the city and the country’s main cathedral whilst it was the capital of Bulgaria
