On the passageway between old Nessebar and new Nessebar stands the intact Black Sea style Old Windmill.

Typical of the area during the 17th-19th Centuries the main body can be pivoted into the wind. Sails are mounted upon the wooden wings to harness the sometimes fierce power of the Black Sea gales.

If you’re ever in Nessebar, try some of the local fish, Turbot (калкан) especially, generally landed the same morning.
